Albuquerque, NM (April 21, 2024) – A tragic incident occurred at the intersection of Central AVE NE and Elizabeth ST NE around 5:40 p.m. yesterday, initially reported as a severe injury crash involving a motorcycle. Albuquerque Police Department (APD) and Fire Department (AFR) units responded to the scene where a motorcycle rider was found motionless.
Upon arrival, emergency responders did not locate the rider, suggesting possible earlier transport to a hospital. Involved in the crash were a pickup truck and a Harley trike. The incident has since been upgraded to a fatal crash, prompting an active investigation by APD.
Westbound Central Avenue is currently closed at Elizabeth Street NE. Authorities are advising the public to avoid the area and seek alternative routes. The investigation into the crash is ongoing.
