Albuquerque, NM – Fatal Crash with Injuries Reported at Coors Blvd & Montano Rd NW

Albuquerque, NM (July 3, 2024) – A fatal crash at Coors Blvd and Montano Rd NW involved three vehicles early Monday. Albuquerque police responded at 12:30 a.m. and arrested Jesus Sandoval-Martinez, 21, who allegedly fled the scene. Witnesses said his vehicle sped into the intersection, hitting two cars traveling westbound on a green light.

One driver, 22-year-old Tiger Gutierrez, died at the hospital. Another passenger is in critical condition, while the third driver suffered minor injuries. Authorities are investigating the circumstances of the crash and will provide updates as more information becomes available.

Colfax Co., NM – Fatal Train Accident Involving Vehicle West of Raton

Colfax Co., NM (July 2, 2024) – A deadly crash involving an Amtrak train and a vehicle occurred Monday morning west of Raton. Deputies from the Colfax County Sheriff’s Office reported that a car collided with the train.

First responders discovered a man inside the vehicle and transported him to the hospital, where he later died. An Amtrak representative confirmed that none of the 117 passengers on board sustained injuries, and the train did not suffer major damage.
