Albuquerque, NM (July 18, 2024) – One person died and another was injured in a crash on Wednesday, July 17. The incident occurred around 4:20 p.m. near Marquette Ave and Espanola St.
Albuquerque police attempted to stop a vehicle near Central and Pennsylvania. The vehicle fled, and officers used a Star Chase device to track it. The fleeing vehicle then crashed into a second vehicle. Officers found two injured people at the scene, with one pronounced dead on site. Police took the fleeing driver into custody.
The Multi-Agency Task Force is investigating the crash and the officers’ roles involved. As the inquiry into the cause of the incident progresses, further details will be provided.
