Dexter, NM (July 25, 2024) – A teenager died, and multiple others were injured in a car accident on Sunday, July 21. New Mexico State Police reported the crash occurred just before 7 p.m. at an intersection on Hwy 285 between Dexter and Roswell.
A car driven by a 16-year-old with 18-year-old Angela Andrews as a passenger crossed the road prematurely and was struck by another vehicle. Both were severely injured and flown to an El Paso hospital, where Andrews later died.
Three people in the other car sustained injuries and were taken to a local hospital. Their current conditions remain unknown. Authorities are investigating the circumstances of the crash and are expected to provide updates as more information becomes available.
