Albuquerque, NM (March 9, 2025) – A pedestrian was struck by a vehicle in a hit-and-run crash near Zuni Rd SE and Indiana St SE on Saturday night, prompting an emergency response from the Albuquerque Police Department (APD).
The accident was reported around 8:40 PM when an APD officer was flagged down about the collision. Around the same time, a separate 911 call confirmed the incident.
The pedestrian was transported to University of New Mexico Hospital by Albuquerque Fire Rescue’s Rescue 11. At the time of transport, the victim was conscious and breathing but reportedly suffered broken bones.
Authorities confirmed that the vehicle involved fled eastbound on Zuni Rd after striking the pedestrian. APD and Police Service Aides responded to the scene and blocked off traffic in both directions on Zuni Rd at Indiana St while investigators gathered evidence.
APD is actively searching for the hit-and-run driver and urges anyone with information to come forward.
