Albuquerque, NM – Pedestrian Fatality in Hit-and-Run at Chico Rd NE and Polin Springs Trl NE

Albuquerque, NM (May 20, 2024) – A pedestrian was struck and killed by an SUV in a hit-and-run incident Sunday night, May 19 in Albuquerque. The crash occurred just before 10 p.m. near the intersection of Chico Rd NE and Polin Springs Trl NE. Authorities confirmed that the male victim had been standing in the road at the time of the accident.

Earlier calls to police reported a man looking into vehicles in the area, matching the description of the victim. Surveillance footage captured the dark-colored SUV hitting the pedestrian, who was pronounced dead at the scene.

The Albuquerque Police Department continues to investigate the crash, seeking leads on the fleeing SUV.
