Albuquerque, NM – Fatal Car Accident Involving BCSO Vehicle at Alameda Rd and Edith Blvd

Albuquerque, NM (August 7, 2024) – Albuquerque police are investigating a deadly crash involving a silver Honda Accord and a Bernalillo County Sheriff’s Office (BCSO) vehicle. The incident occurred early Wednesday morning, August 7, at the intersection of Alameda Road and Edith Boulevard.

A BCSO Ford Explorer collided with the rear end of the Honda, causing it to crash into a wall. The Honda’s driver, not wearing a seatbelt, died at the scene. The BCSO deputy involved was unharmed and not hospitalized.

BCSO deputies reported the Honda as a suspicious vehicle before the crash. The deputy involved claimed the Honda brake-checked them before the collision. Alcohol or drug use is not suspected. More information is expected as the investigation continues.
