Rio Rancho, NM (August 16, 2024) – A tragic two-car collision on U.S. Hwy 550 near Rio Rancho resulted in two fatalities on Thursday afternoon, August 15. The Rio Rancho Police Department and Fire Rescue responded to the severe incident at U.S. 550 and Northwest Loop.
The crash occurred when one vehicle attempted to turn left onto the highway and collided with another traveling on U.S. 550. Both victims were in the vehicle on the highway. Three other individuals sustained injuries and were transported to local hospitals, where they are reported to be in stable condition.
