Albuquerque, NM (August 14, 2023) – The Albuquerque Police Department (APD) confirmed that a motorcyclist was hospitalized after a crash on I-25 northbound between Montao and Jefferson on Saturday night, August 12, 2023.
When the motorcyclist encountered a vehicle at the end of the merge lane, he rapidly merged onto Interstate 25.
As a result of losing control, he was thrown from the motorcycle and taken to the hospital in critical condition.
The crash is believed to have been caused by excessive speed and driver error.
Uncertainty surrounds alcohol’s role. There are no pending charges at present.
According to the APD, two other vehicles collided while attempting to avoid the motorcyclist, resulting in no further injuries.
